Some sound advice for adults and teens alike!
Be Considerate: of everyone in the group. Do not put others down or put your own needs before those of others. Be on the lookout for anyone who needs help (whether a kind word or help lifting a bag). We are all in this together!
Be Patient. There will be thousands of people at NCYC. You will wait in lines: for buses, at the hotel, at restaurants to name a few. This can be a hassle or it can be an opportunity. While you are waiting, have fun. Make new friends. Get to know the people around you.
Be Sensitive: to other hotel guests. Treat them with courtesy. Share the elevators. Act appropriately at all times. Remember that other guests will be sleeping when we get in at night. The impression these people have of Catholic youth will be based on their experience of your group.
Be Open. Awesome things can happen at NCYC. Enter into the experience with an open mind and an open heart. God has called you to this gathering for a reason. Your adventure is in discovering what that reason might be.
Be Excited. When thousands of Catholic young people gather in Atlanta for NCYC, there will be tremendous energy and excitement. Be a part of it all! Get ready for an experience you will remember for the rest of your life.
Be Proud: to be Catholic. God has given you a great gift in inviting you to be a part of the Catholic family. NCYC is a time to celebrate being young and Catholic, to learn more about your faith heritage and to connect with others who are on the same journey as you.
Be Respectful: of the rules. Remember they are there for a reason: your safety and well being. Whether a teen or an adult, abide by the guidelines and codes of conduct you agreed to when signing on for the conference in order to make this a positive experience for all.
